The five principles of Reiki that are also life principles.
There are five core principles of Reiki. In every Level 1 Reiki course, these five principles are taught like a code of ethics to embody the spirit of Reiki.
But the Reiki Principles arenβt just for those learning Reiki, they are also life principles. A way of live life and serve as guidelines on living a peaceful and mindful life.
They are beautiful gentle reminders that can be repeated as affirmations, both when life is great and also when life feels toughβ¦

Why I became a Reiki & Sound Practitioner
Being a spiritual and intuitive person has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My curiosity about the spiritual realm deepened significantly after the stillbirth of my daughter in 2003, followed by the loss of both parents in subsequent years.
At the same time I was also struggling with my work situation. Although I enjoyed working with people, I felt so confined and had a sense of no real purposeβ¦.
10 healthy ways to release anger safely
Lately Iβve been seeing themes of anger coming up in client sessions. Itβs interesting when I see that because it often is a reflection of where I am at too, and gives me an opportunity to explore whatβs happening, both for my clients and also for myself.
This blog is about sharing with you some suggestions on ways to move through your own anger in a healthy, non-destructive, respectful way. These are some emotional, mental, physical and energetic ways that I myself personally have used, that just might help you too.
Releasing the end of the year
The end of the year is a perfect time to pause and reflect on what has been. To acknowledge the year and all you experienced, good and bad. And to acknowledge yourself.
This is a good exercise to do towards the end of the year. It doesnβt have to be on a certain day. Just on a day where you feel is right for you to reflect on your year.
Hereβs how you can do this yourself at home.
Changing your thoughts
I read somewhere that the average adult has anywhere between 6,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day (depending on the research). Out of that, around 80% are negative! AND about 90% of our thoughts are repetitive! π Soooo much negative looping in our heads.
No wonder so many people have so much noise in their heads and are so stressed!
When you become aware the power our thoughts have on your life, then you can start to be more mindful of our internal dialogue and start focusing on how we truly want our life to be. I know itβs not easy to change this but it can be done.
The process of creating a Spirit Guided drawing
When a client books a Spirit guided drawing, usually I get visits from their Spirit Guides / Spirit team and they start giving me impressions of what to place on the paper, and what they want to say. I may see colours, a face, hair, objects; it varies from person to person.
The reason why I may receive Spirit Guides straight away is because the person has made the intention to receive information from their guides, and their Guides are so excited to get started on giving me the messages! Some are very keen to make themselves knownβ¦..
Making time for Self-care
Have you noticed that self-care is often overlooked when we get busy or are feeling stressed? We get so caught up in the moments, and are so consumed with achieving or doing things, that we put our needs last.
But itβs exactly at these times that we need to prioritise and look after our mental, emotional, physical & spiritual health.
The methods of self-care can look different for everyone but it all comes down to what fuels your heart, mind, body and spirit.
About Spirit Guides; part 3
Part 3 of About Spirit Guides is how you can deepen your connection with your Spirit Guides so that it becomes more of a two way communication.
Your Guides are always nearby, ready to connect and offer their guidance in your life. Donβt expect your connection to be a huge bolt of lightning. Spirit Guides are (usually) much more gentle and subtle than that. Itβs a matter of building up trust in yourself and the way you communicate with your Spirit Guidesβ¦.
About Spirit Guides; part 2
Your spirit guides are with you to guide you on your lifeβs journey. They want nothing more than to help you in life and love when you are aware of the connection you have! Spirit Guides are always trying to connect with you.
Hereβs some ways that Spirit Guides connect with you so that you are aware of them.
About Spirit Guides; part 1
Your spirit guides are with you to guide you on your lifeβs journey. They are by your side always, whether you know it or not, whether you believe it or not. They are there.
I am not special because I can communicate with my Spirit Guides. I donβt possess any special gifts that you donβt. It is possible for anyone to connect with their Spirit Guides.

Is your Mobile Phone taking over your life?
If I were to ask you this question, what would your answer be?
When was the last time you went for a walk, took a shower, went to the toilet, to the gym, to bed or ANYWHERE without your phone?
Itβs great that we have a computer in our hands. A portable device that can answer even the most silly of questions. But itβs a double edged sword. Most of us are addicted to our phones and the notifications and are really suffering for it.
Reflections on forgiveness
β¦.I used to think forgiveness meant I had to be ok with what a person did in order to move on. But as I have matured, and my perception on the world has shifted, I have realised that forgiveness is a shift that happens within. To me, forgiveness is about allowing ourselves to move on from someone, or something they did without constantly re-attaching ourself back again. Itβs letting go of the resentment, the hurt and the pain. It doesnβt necessarily mean that you accept someoneβs hurtful actions, but rather that you are willing to move on. Itβs a gift to yourself.
Some suggestions to help you sleep better
Do you struggle to get to sleep? It can be really exhausting and frustrating not being able to get to sleep. Or you get to sleep but you keep waking up?
Lack of sleep can really impact our day to day functioning affecting our immunity, mood and behaviour. On the other hand, adequate sleep supports our physical health, emotional well-being and cognitive functions.
Hereβs my take on how you can create a better nightβs sleep for yourselfβ¦
Quick anxiety relief: Humming
The other day at yoga, we did a little humming exercise. It was such a lovely exercise that Iβve used over the years to reduce anxiety and it always brings me to a state of calm.
It got me thinking about how such a simple exercise can bring so much peace and calm so quickly. In the past I was a huge anxiety sufferer and have used many techniques in order to help me. And I figured; it it brings me a lot of calm then it might be helpful to others who havenβt experienced this before. So below I will explain to you how to do this little technique and also the benefits you will receive from doing it.

Becoming a Reiki Master
After eight months of deep self discovery, healing and expansion and a crap load of homework(!!), I am proud to have been initiated as a Reiki Master Teacher (in the Usui Reiki lineage)! π The journey wasnβt easy or straight forward but it has certainly has expanded my knowledge of Reiki, healing and self.
The journey to becoming a Reiki Master Teacher
The journey to Reiki Master teacher looks something like this. You undertake three levels of courses before getting to the Master level of training. Each level builds on the previous level.
At the end of each level, you are attuned to the Reiki energy for where you are at. My Reiki mentor, Julie described an attunement as turning the dial on a radio station so that you are fine tuned in to that frequency. I love that analogy!
End of year Reflections
The end of the year is a really powerful time to pause & reflect on the year. Itβs an opportunity to both honour your progress and release what no longer serves you.
Reflection is two-fold..
The first part is acknowledging and celebrating how far you have come.... And that may look really different for everybody.
Some people may be proud of major achievements, while others might simply be relieved they made it through. Whatever your experience, it's important that you don't compare yourself to anyone else, and focus on your unique journey. Take a few moments to celebrate youβ¦β¦β¦
