Group Sound Bath FAQs

In just over a week, on Tuesday May 20th, I will be running my next Group Sound bath. You may or may not know what a Group Sound bath is, so here's a few FAQs to give you more insight in to why you should consider attending one!!

What is a Group Sound bath?

A Group Sound Bath is a deeply immersive experience designed to help you release stress, restore balance, and reconnect with yourself through the healing power of sound. By surrounding you with deep vibrations and calming tones, it can help bring relief from stress, physical tension, lift your mood and improve sleep. Many people find that it brings a wonderful sense of inner peace, boosts energy, and deepens their connection to their spirituality and higher self.

What can I expect?

When you arrive, you will get settled in to your space.  At the start time, I will begin with some focused breathing to encourage your body and mind to soften. Then I will move in to a guided meditation, followed by the Sound bath component. The sound instruments I currently use are:

  • chimes, gong, Tingsha, Tibetan singing bowls & crystal bowls.

I will play a combination of these to ease you in to a relaxed state with the Tibetan and Crystal bowls being the longest component.

I will also come around each person with some of the instruments. It's really delicious to hear the sound and vibrations up close and personal. (Please note that approaching you is optional and is completely your choice.)

What are the benefits of a Group Sound bath?

During your Group Sound bath, instruments are used to create peaceful, resonant sounds that encourage deep relaxation and stress relief. These sound waves then travel through the body and deliver soothing, healing, harmonic sound waves to all parts of your body returning you to a state of balance and harmony.

Not only that but a Sound bath improves sleep and general well-being.The list really goes on and on really.

What if I don't feel the benefits?

I try my absolute best to create an environment of peace and harmony. But it is up to you to meet me there. Set the intention that you will do what you can to allow yourself to let go (eg placing your phone on silent and putting it away, giving yourself enough time to get to the venue and set up prior to the event starting, starting to wind down before you come, etc).

Why is it called a Sound bath?

Sound bath is kinda a funny name isn't it?!! But when you think about it, the word "bath" is really emphasising that the sound and vibrations are washing over you. Like the sea washes away and dissolves our tension, so too does the sound and vibrations.

Sound baths are more than an auditory experience though. Sound waves are felt through the skin and the body’s water composition (as our cells are 70% water content) and so the sound waves vibrate in the body.

What do I need to bring?

This will vary depending on the venue. Yoga studios normally provide some props for participants. Some other venues do not provide any props so you will need to bring anything that will help you be comfortable. For venues that do not provide props:

  • Recommended to bring: yoga mat, blanket & socks

  • Additional items if you like: bolster (for under your knees), small pillow for under your head and eye pillow

Please note that I do have some yoga mats and bolsters that I can bring if you do not have your own, but please let me know beforehand!
