Integration after your Reiki or Sound healing session
So you’ve had a Reiki or Sound healing session. For you to get the most out of your session, it’s really important to allow time for integration of the energy that has just moved. Here’s an explanation on how you can do that.
First it’s important to know that every Reiki or Sound healing session is different for each person. And even different for each person every time.
Sometimes a healing session is nurturing..
and gives you much needed rest or stress relief. If this is the case, your body, mind and spirit likely needed this deep rest, especially if you are so used to being busy all the time, or are not attentive to your own needs. A Reiki or Sound healing session gives you the space to stop and just let go.
And sometimes an energy healing session..
brings up stuff for you to work through. I find if this happens, it is because you feel safe enough, and are ready to work through whatever comes up.
Be gentle with yourself if emotions rise that need clearing. This can take time, especially if you have a build up storage of emotions.
Pay attention to what comes up..
and follow up with whatever you need to support yourself during this time. It may be follow up Reiki / Sound sessions and perhaps, also something else. It really can depend what this something else may be, but healing takes various forms and is usually integrative. I find clients may also benefit from talk therapy and / or some sort of physical therapy alongside their Reiki / Sound sessions to best work through traumas. This is because we are not just a body, not just a mind and not just a spirit, we are all three so therefore the best support addresses issues in a holistic manner.
If something comes up for you at your session, I will discuss this with you, and give you some guidance for further support.
In the evening and days following your Reiki / Sound healing session….
remember to rest and give yourself some stillness. You’ve just come out of a healing space, and allowing yourself time to integrate the energy movement sounds so simple, but is so powerful.
Roaring back in to life full throttle doesn’t allow for integration of the healing energy, and you are likely throwing yourself right back to where you were before you came. Sure, you may have had a beautiful rest at your session, but trust me when I say the power of the session lays within the clarity you receive both during and after your session. Give yourself a chance to absorb the healing energy.
Don’t underestimate the power of stillness.
Energy work can make you thirsty!
This is because we are moving energy, removing blockages in your energy field. Drinking lots of water / herbal teas assists on a physical level to support your body’s natural healing mechanisms.
Journalling
If you feel called to do so, journal about any insights or experiences that arose during your session, and also anything that comes up in the next few days or weeks.
It is always beneficial to look back on your notes for recurring themes and / or things you need to work on, or to see and honour your progress.
No set timeframe
Be aware that the integration of the healing energy can take hours, days or weeks. There is no specific timeframe.
Allow the energy to settle, and the wisdom to land and be received.
Energy isn’t always like a bolt of lightning, it can be subtle. Pay attention. (That’s why journalling can be a valuable tool).
Feel in and listen to your intuition…
to determine if another Reiki or Sound healing session would benefit you, and when.
If you have been quite stressed, have trouble resting or are working on a certain issue, then follow up session would likely benefit you. Liken the “work” you are doing in your healing journey to going to the gym to increase muscle mass. It takes time. You don’t go to the gym once and then you are done. It is a commitment to your health.
But only you know what feels right for you. Listen to your gut, it always knows your personal truth. Stop and listen to it.
